GroupTogether vs Kudoboard: which group card should you use?

GroupTogether and Kudoboard both let a group sign one online card, but they are built around different things. GroupTogether is centered on the card plus a money collection; Kudoboard is centered on the board itself and on plans for employers. Here is how they compare on the figures each publishes, and where Thankeeu sits next to them.

Quick answer

GroupTogether is the cheaper, simpler choice for a card with unlimited messages and a money collection: $5.50 USD a card, free with a collection of at least $20, per its US pricing page in October 2026. Kudoboard costs more per board, from $6.99 for 20 posts to $19.99 for unlimited, but offers video, printed books and employer plans. Thankeeu adds voice notes on every card to that mix.

GroupTogether and Kudoboard details as listed on their pricing page in October 2026 (https://www.grouptogether.com/us/pricing, https://www.kudoboard.com/pricing). Price for one card

GroupTogether’s US card was $5.50 including tax and fees, with unlimited messages. Kudoboard’s Lite board was $6.99 for up to 20 posts, Premium $9.99 for up to 100 with video, and Milestone $19.99 for unlimited posts and a slideshow. For a team of more than twenty, the fair comparison is GroupTogether’s $5.50 against Kudoboard Premium or Milestone, and GroupTogether is clearly cheaper.

What goes on the card

GroupTogether’s pricing page lists messages, photos and GIFs, a PDF download and templates or your own design. It does not list video. Kudoboard adds video from Premium, custom backgrounds and a slideshow on Milestone, and printed books and posters. Neither pricing page lists voice notes.

If what you want is people saying something out loud, Thankeeu has voice notes on every card, and the Most Popular card adds video and the Memory Movie, a short film with music made from the whole card.

Collecting money

This is GroupTogether’s strength. Its US collection is free to set up, makes the card free above $20, and charges contributors 2.9% + $0.30, with a $2,000 cap per collection and more than 150 eGift cards to spend it on. In Australia the page listed a 1.8% contributor fee and a 2% withdrawal fee.

Kudoboard’s approach is a gift card attached to a board, and a large gifting catalog for employers. It is less of a whip round and more of a gift chosen by the organiser.

Thankeeu puts a gift pot inside the card: signers chip in as they sign, fees are shown first, and the recipient claims the money to their bank or as a digital gift card.

For employers

Kudoboard is the one with structured workplace plans: Business from $299 a year and Pro from $449 a year for up to 50 employees, with HRIS integration and milestone automations on Enterprise. GroupTogether’s US pricing page lists eGift cards with invoice payment but not an automation plan.

Thankeeu for Teams automates birthday and work anniversary cards from HR systems such as Rippling, Gusto and BambooHR and offers a free company account.

Which should you pick?

Pick GroupTogether if the money collection is the main thing and you want the lowest card price. Pick Kudoboard if your employer already pays for a plan, or you need printed books. Pick Thankeeu if you want people to record voice notes and video, deliver at the right time in the recipient’s time zone, and keep credits that never expire.

Three typical situations

A small team of eight in an American office wants a birthday card and to put $15 each towards a gift card. GroupTogether is the natural fit: the collection clears the $20 minimum, the card is free, and the gift card comes out of the same place. Kudoboard would cost a Lite board plus a separate way to collect money.

A company of 300 wants every employee birthday and work anniversary covered. Kudoboard Business or Pro gives unlimited boards, and Enterprise adds HRIS automations. Thankeeu for Teams automates the same occasions from HR systems without needing enterprise size. GroupTogether’s pricing page does not cover this case.

A department of forty is saying goodbye to a manager who is retiring after twenty years. People want to tell stories, some by voice, and the family will watch it together. Here the card matters more than the price, and Thankeeu Most Popular, with video, voice notes and the Memory Movie, or Kudoboard Milestone, with unlimited posts and a slideshow, are the stronger options.

Packs and credits

GroupTogether sells packs from 5 cards for $25 to 100 for $349, available for 12 months. Kudoboard’s Premium package was $35 a year for 5 boards. Thankeeu Pack credits never expire and can be passed to another account, which suits budgets that move between teams.
