A Kudoboard alternative for British leaving cards and whip rounds
In most UK offices the leaving card and the whip round are two separate jobs, usually landing on the same person. Thankeeu puts both on one link: colleagues sign, record a voice note, add a photo and chip in to the collection in pounds, all in the same place.

Quick answer
For UK teams, Thankeeu is a straightforward Kudoboard alternative: an online leaving or birthday card that any number of colleagues can sign, with voice notes and photos on every card and a whip round in pounds inside the card. Kudoboard’s single boards are capped at 20 posts on Lite and 100 on Premium, as listed on its pricing page in October 2026.

Why UK offices move away from Kudoboard
The honest answer is usually the whip round. Kudoboard lets you attach a gift card to a board, but the classic British office collection is cash in an envelope that goes round the desks, and its online version needs to take any amount from anyone, in pounds, without a separate payment link. Thankeeu’s gift pot does that inside the card. Contributions from UK colleagues are taken in GBP and the fees are shown before anyone pays.
The second reason is the post cap. A leaving card for someone who has been at the firm for a decade tends to collect messages from finance, the old team, the new team and two people who left years ago but still want to say goodbye. Kudoboard’s Lite board stops at 20 posts. Thankeeu has no limit on any card.
Third, sound. A voice note from a colleague in the Manchester office who never made it to the leaving drinks says more than a typed line, and voice notes come with every Thankeeu card at no extra cost.
Leaving cards, retirements and new baby cards, done the British way
Leaving cards are the most common reason UK teams use us. You can write the card in the person’s favourite colours, add their name to the cover, and time it to arrive at four on a Friday as the drinks begin. Our online leaving card guide for colleagues has wording that works for a manager, a close friend or someone you barely knew.
Retirement cards often reach well beyond the office: clients, suppliers, people from the old site. Private messages let a former colleague say something personal that only the retiree sees. Baby cards and get well soon cards work the same way, with the whip round optional on each one.
Birthday cards are smaller and more frequent, which is why most UK teams buy a Pack. The credits never expire, so a team that buys ten in January still has them for the Christmas party season.
What you get on each plan
There is no subscription. Every card is free to create and to fill with messages; you only pay when you send. Here is the difference between the three options, with prices in pounds shown live below.
- Classic: Unlimited colleagues and messages, photos, GIFs and voice notes, scheduled delivery, the whip round and a PDF to print for the office wall
- Most Popular: Adds video messages, the Memory Movie with music, thirty fonts, replies to individual messages and up to five co organisers
- Pack: Several Most Popular cards at a lower price each, held as credits that never expire and that you can pass to another manager’s account
For workplaces: HR and office managers
If you are an office manager who sends a card for every birthday and every work anniversary, the per card model gets tiring. Thankeeu for Teams imports staff from Personio, HiBob, BambooHR and other HR systems and creates those cards automatically, in a company workspace your colleagues can browse. Kudoboard keeps HRIS integration and milestone automations for its Enterprise plan, according to its pricing page.
For smaller UK businesses a Pack shared between two or three team leads is often enough, and costs nothing when nobody is leaving.
Hybrid teams, regional offices and the person who always forgets
British teams are spread out now. Half the department might be in on Tuesdays and Thursdays, someone works from Leeds, and the new starter has only ever met the leaver on a video call. A card that lives on one link solves the old problem of the paper card sitting in a drawer on the wrong floor. Reminders go to anyone who has opened the link but not signed, so the organiser does not have to chase people one by one.
It also helps with the quiet colleagues. Some people would rather record a short voice note than write a paragraph, and some would rather post a photo from the Christmas do than say anything at all. Giving them three ways to take part usually means more of the office joins in, and the card feels like it came from everyone rather than from the five people who sit nearest the organiser.
Finally, time zones. If the leaver is moving to a role in Dubai or New York, schedule delivery in their new local time so the card is waiting on their first morning.
What Kudoboard does well
Kudoboard offers printed books and posters, with international shipping, and lists Slack and Microsoft Teams integration on its Pro plan. If a printed keepsake posted to someone’s home is essential, that is a real point in its favour. Thankeeu cards can be downloaded as a PDF and printed, but we do not post physical books.
